This piece was originally composed as a song in March of 2005. Ms. Laitman revised it in January of 2008 for saxophone and piano, after the poet removed permission to use the poem.

The composition was premiered on February 10, 2008 at Bluffton University in Ohio, by saxophonist Adam Schattschneider and pianist Anna Stembler-Smith.
