When I first began composing for voice in 1991, my friend and colleague, soprano Lauren Wagner, encouraged me to write a funny encore song. Dreaming is one of the few songs for which I wrote my own lyrics (causing many a sleepless night). This piece now exists in solo, duet and quartet versions.
The vocal quartet is perfect as an encore.
