CN18. 2nd Duo de Harpe et piano, sol mineur (after 1783) Edited by Barbara Jackson (1993).
2 partbooks
French aristocrat, musical amateur and hostess of a salon frequented by her neighbor Benjamin Franklin. Mme Brillon was a fine harpsichordist and also one of the earliest pianists in France. The
Duo is for the unusual combination of harp and piano (both instruments were in her home) and
contains some of the earliest pedal indications in piano music. Her first Duo has apparently been lost.
